My dad's party and Sesame Street.

We had my dad's surprise birthday party on Friday night at Sam's house. It turned out really nice. There were about 40 people or so that were there. Everyone was there before my dad. I am not sure if he was really surprised or if he saw it coming. It was really nice to get everyone together. My dads 2 sisters live out of town, so he doesn't get to see them very often, so I think he really enjoyed getting to visit with them for a bit. Andrea,Sam,Jamie and I went in together and bought him a new recliner. He really seemed to like it. After we gave it to him Eric, Jamie and I drove over to his house and got it moved inside for him and moved out his old chair. Here is a picture of all of us girls with my dad.
I was so exhausted yesterday when I woke up because we had been up so late on Friday night. We are having Eric's parents over for dinner later today, so there were some things I wanted to make for that yesterday morning. So I spent a couple of hours yesterday making a suddenly salad, pie and cutting up strawberries. We had bought tickets to go to sesame street live last night. So we ate dinner around 4 and left here around 4:30. We got there around 5 and went and got souvenirs and popcorn and then found our seats. We sat there for about 20 minutes before the show started. Colin was doing really good for a long time then all of a sudden he got bored of sitting there. So for about 20 minutes, he would be whiny and then stop and it lasted until they had a 15 minute intermission. We had to lie to Jaidyn and tell her the show was over because we knew that Colin wouldn't make it for another 45 minutes. She seemed fine with that. They had brought out elmo balloons, so Eric told her we could buy one and then leave. She was so excited and she told us the whole way home that she had alot of fun at the elmo show. I was glad that we were able to take them. I just wish Colin wouldn't have been so whiny so that we could have stayed for the whole thing.

The terrible twos?

I really think that Jaidyn is just now going through her terrible twos at the age of 3. These last couple of months she has been horrible. She yells at me constantly and whines over everything. She used to never be this way. I just really hope it goes away soon. I don't know if Eric or I can handle anymore of it. I honestly thought Eric was going to spank her butt last night. It usually takes alot to make him mad, but by the end of the day yesterday, we had both had it with her. On Friday, I was supposed to go to dinner with Ashlee without the kids. Eric was going to his parents for dinner, so we he was going to take the kids with him. When the time came to leave, Jaidyn threw a huge fit because she wanted to go to dinner with Ashlee and I. Of course Eric said she could go with us. So I ended up taking her with us and she screamed and cried the whole time because I forgot to put a bow in her hair. I swear it lasted forever. I finally called Eric to tell him to come and get her because I didn't want her screaming like that in the middle of the restaurant while everyone was trying to eat. Once I threatened her with that, she stopped whining. Our food got there and after that she was fine. I just couldn't believe she was throwing a huge fit like that just because I forgot to put a bow in her hair. On Saturday morning Jamie came over so that we could go buy my dad a new recliner. His birthday is next week and we are throwing a surprise party for him on Friday night since he is turning 60. Alot of his family and friends will be there. Anyways we all decided to go in together and buy him a recliner because he really needs and wants a new one. Jamie and I went shopping for one and found the perfect one. I think he is really going to like it. After that Jamie, Jaidyn and I went to the mall. I had ordered Jaidyn some new sandals and they didn't fit, so I wanted to take them back and find a new pair. We shopped there for a while and then came home. Eric's parents and his brother came over shortly after that for dinner and to watch the NASCAR race. Sunday we woke up and went to Wal Mart first thing to get our groceries. We were there for an hour because we had so many groceries to buy. We just spent the rest of the day hanging out and watching tv. I felt so tired yesterday, that I couldn't make myself do anything. Jamie wanted me to go to the movies with her and I couldn't even make myself do that. I have to make 3 dozen cupcakes for my dad's birthday party. I am going to do that on Friday in the day since his party doesn't start until 7. Andrea, my mom and the boys are coming to town Friday morning. My mom is going to go to Sam's house and help her get stuff ready and Andrea and the boys are coming over here to hang out and help me with the cupcakes. It should be a fun day. I am really looking forward to my dads party because I know how happy and surprised he is going to be. Eric's parents offered to babysit the kids for us since the party doesn't start until 7. We are going to leave Colin home with them, but we are going to take Jaidyn. There will be other kids around her age there, so she will have someone to play with.

Easter

Saturday was a pretty busy day for me. I woke up first thing and boiled eggs so that we could get them colored. After letting them cool for about half an hour, Jaidyn and I started to color them. She really wasn't interested in coloring them, so she just watched me do it. I thought for sure that when it came time to put the stickers on, that would be something she would enjoy. Wrong, she once again wanted to watch me do it and not do any of it herself. Here is a picture of her once we got all the eggs colored. All she wanted to do was carry the basket around all day.
After getting the eggs done. I had to make a better than sex cake to take to dinner on Sunday at Eric's parents house. I got that all made and Eric's parents showed up to our house about 30 minutes later. We hadn't seen them since they got into town, so they came over to spend the day and they had offered to babysit the kids so Eric and I could go out by ourselves. I had an appointment to get my haircut, but before I left Eric's parents kept trying to talk me out of cutting my hair. It was really annoying because I was sick of it being longer and I was ready for a change. Even though they kept making me feel like it was a bad idea to cut it, I did it anyways. I am so glad I did because I love it the way it is now. It is so much easier to fix everyday and it feels so much healthier. Plus it looks cute. The lady cutting it was so nice and I will definately go back to her to get it done again. I don't have a picture of my haircut right now, but I will post it once I have Eric take a picture. About an hour after I got home, we decided to go on our little date. I put Colin down for a nap before we left and he fell right to sleep. When it was time for us to leave, Jaidyn threw a huge fit because she wanted to go with us. Eric felt bad and told her she could go. At first I was kind of sad because we never get out of the house by ourselves and I was really looking forward to it. But after we were in the truck I realized it was good that we were taking Jaidyn with us because she never gets to spend time with us by herself. So off we went to Sam's Club and then Target. What a great date, but what else were we supposed to do since we had Jaidyn with us. Then we went to The Olive Garden. We were home by 5:30. Jamie had asked me since I was home so early if I wanted to go see Fast and Furious with her. Eric didn't mind since he didn't want to see it anyways. Jamie came over and we headed to The Red Rock to see the movie. It was really good and I can't wait to watch it again. On Sunday we woke up and the kids were very excited to find all the easter eggs around the house and see their easter baskets. Here are some pictures.

They spent most of the morning eating candy from their easter baskets. We headed over to Eric's parents house around noon for dinner. We ate dinner with his family and then his parents did a little egg hunt in their backyard. Jaidyn had a good time. Colin wanted nothing to do with it and wouldn't even walk. I think it's because the grass isn't level and he didn't like walking on it. Here are some pictures from that.

Time for a haircut

I have been growing out my hair for a few months now, but I have finally decided that I can't let it grow any longer. It is driving me crazy. It seems like I can't even do anything with it and it looks horrible all the time. So I have decided I want to go shorter. Here is a picture of the haircut I want.

I am always scared to let someone I have never been to before cut my hair. I had been having Jenna do it, but since she just had a baby, I don't know that she will be cutting hair for a while. So Ashlee referred me to a lady that she used to go to and her mom still does. The cool thing is that the salon is not even 5 minutes from my house. I have an appointment tomorrow and I can't wait. I just hope it turns out the way I want it to. Eric's parents got into town last night and they will be staying for a few weeks. They offered to babysit for us tomorrow so that we can go out to dinner and maybe a movie. We hardly ever get to go anywhere without the kids, so it will be really nice. So it looks like I will actually have a busy weekend. Tomorrow I have to color easter eggs with the kids, bake a cake, get my hair cut and then Eric and I will go out on our "date".lol Then Sunday we are having an easter dinner at Eric's parents house with his whole family. His parents are planning an easter egg hunt in their backyard for the kids, so that should be fun for them. At the beginning of this week Eric and I decided to go ahead and buy our season passes to Disneyland. He said that he wanted to go back on Mother's Day weekend. I was so excited because I really wanted to try and go in May before school gets out and it gets really busy at Disneyland, but I wasn't sure if Eric could take the days off work. Well thankfully he can. We already booked our hotel on priceline and we got a 3 star hotel for just $43 a night. I seriously love priceline. If it weren't for priceline, we wouldn't be able to go on trips as often. We seriously get the nicest hotels for half the price, sometimes even less. Anyways we figured we would drive to Cali on Mothers day and maybe hit disneyland that afternoon. They are open until midnight that night. We figured now that we have the season passes and you can go for as many days in a row that you want, we might as well take advantage of that. Then we will spend all day Monday at Disneyland and then go back first thing Tuesday morning and stay until about 12 or 1. That way we can head home after that and still get home at a decent time since Eric will have to work the next day. I just hope it isn't too busy. I wouldn't think it would be since noone is on spring break and noone is out for summer yet. Plus we will be going on a Monday and tuesday which I wouldn't think would be as busy. We will see though. I am really excited and I am so glad that Eric likes taking the kids to disneyland as much as I do. I am glad he let us get the season passes. This way we can go back as many times as we want this year. However after our May trip, we probably won't be going back until September or October because it is always way too crowded in the summertime. Jaidyn was very excited to learn that we are going back to disneyland next month. She is always asking if we can go back.

The last time I posted was on Jaidyn's birthday before her party. She had a very good birthday and was so excited about all her presents. She got tons of them. On Thursday we left for Alamo. We got there about 9:15. My mom had to work all day and Andrea had to work until noon. After Andrea got off of work, she picked us up some lunch from the shack and brought it up to my mom's so we could have lunch. We just hung out and talked for a bit and then she headed home. The kids and I just hung out and waited for my mom to get home. I have to say that being alone at my mom's house with the kids is definately not easy. My house is childproofed and we have up baby gates, so the kids can go wherever they want. At my mom's house it is a whole different story. There are glass antiques everywhere. I swear I would be trying to keep Colin out of one thing and turn around and Jaidyn would be into something. Colin was obsessed with the my moms phone too. We don't have a house phone at our house, so he never gets to play with one with a cord. Well once he saw my mom's, that is all he wanted. He would go grab it and if he saw you coming to take it away, he would start talking really fast into the phone.lol It was funny. On Friday, we just hung out and did a whole lot of nothing. Jamie had come up late the night before, so I had her there to hang out with me so that I wasn't bored out of my mind. Saturday we woke up really early and headed down to the 5k to help out with that. We had to get there at 6:45 on Saturday morning and the temperature was only 34 degrees outside. I thought we all might die. We were frozen the whole time we were doing it. The wind was blowing a little too, so it made it even worse. After the 5k was over, we headed back up to my moms and hung out for a while until it was time for Ryan's baptism. That lasted about 30 minutes and then we went back to my moms to change clothes so that we could go to the park to eat. Jeremy barbequed some cheeseburgers and hot dogs. It was nice, but the kids and I ended up leaving early because Colin was tired, so I decided we should probably head back to Vegas. We got home about 4:30 and I was so tired. Thankfully Eric was nice and gave the kids a bath that night. We woke up on Sunday and was lazy for a while. Jamie and Tyson came over because they were staying the night here last night. Jamie brought Tyson down so she could take him to the Fallout Boy concert for his birthday. Sam got a limo for Tyson and Jamie to take to the concert. She came over so she could ride in it with them and then had the limo bring her back here to get her car. They wanted me to go with them in the limo, but I decided I better stay here and clean instead. This morning we woke up and went to breakfast with Jamie and Tyson at Black Bear Diner before they headed back to Alamo. I plan on not doing much this week besides cleaning the house. Eric's parents will be in town on Thursday evening. They will be staying for a couple of weeks to help out Eric's brother after he gets his surgery. They offered to babysit for Eric and I on Saturday so that we could go do something by ourselves. I am not sure if we are going to or not though because there is an egg hunt on Saturday that I was thinking about taking the kids too. On Sunday we are having Easter dinner at Eric's parents house and then they are doing a little egg hunt in their back yard for the kids. I am glad they have a backyard with grass because we can't do anything in our backyard since we have a pool and our backyard isn't very big anyways. So the Easter Bunny will be hiding all the eggs in our house. I have been talking to Eric about getting season passes to disneyland. We have gone alot in the last year and it just seems stupid not to buy the season passes if we plan on going alot this year too. I finally talked Eric into it and he says we will buy them next time we go to disneyland, which I am hoping will be in May. I don't want to go in the summertime because it will be way too busy so I was thinking if we could go in May, then we could wait to go back in September or October. We will see if Eric can get the days off of work in May though.
